We're excited to be opening our SR Live 2024 season with a back-to-back show featuring Bark Bark Disco and Joon! Entrance is free - don't miss out. - Bark Bark Disco is a band from Malta and Berlin that formed in August 2011. Their debut concert was with Bonnie Prince Billy in a Masonic cemetery in Valletta. Their debut video for their single "Song for the Lovers" was a tribute to 1970s porn star Brigitte Lahaie and was taken from Erwin Dietrich's classic film Six Swedish Girls in a Boarding School. It received half a million views on YouTube in under two weeks. Bark Bark Disco's main singer-songwriter, Ian Schranz, also forms part of the indie-rock groups Beangrowers and The Shh.
Joon is an electronic solo project from Maltese songwriter & producer Yasmin Kuymizakis. Her debut album 'Dream Again' was released in July 2021 on the Los Angeles record label 'Italians Do It Better'. JOON is inspired by dream worlds, mysticism and the supernatural, from her ethereal vocals and celestial synths to her self-directed music videos that take cues from B-movie tropes. Her lyrics are peppered with messages of hope for her listeners, which glide around cushioned beats and woozy layers of electronic sound. - Admission: Free
