Ritmu Roots Festival - Għana Għand tal-Iżgej

Following the success of last year's edition Għana Għand tal-Iżgej, Ritmu Roots Festival is thrilled to present yet another exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic and grassroots context of għana. The venue for this unique showcase will be the garage belonging to Mikiel Cumbo, fondly known as ‘L-Iżgej’.

Prepare to be captivated by some of the finest singers, guitarists, and practitioners of the għana tradition. The diverse program features two sessions of għana spirtu pront. This dynamic format involves improvised rhyming duels, traditional guitar playing, and segments of high-pitched singing known as Il-Bormliża. Beyond the music, the evening will also include traditional food and drinks, a generous offering in line with the customary hospitality of the Cumbo family.
