Born out of the collaboration between two accomplished traditional musicians from Crete, Giorgos and Nikos, the Nefalo Project seamlessly intertwines the rich and robust sounds of traditional Cretan music with the intricate rhythms and harmonies of jazz. The result is a powerful and captivating musical experience that retains the raw and authentic qualities of Cretan music while delicately revealing its hidden, sentimental side. The blend of traditional songs from the island of Crete, coupled with original compositions by Giorgos, forms the heart of their repertoire. Over the course of the last 6 years, Giorgos and Nikos have developed a strong musical relationship, refining their unique approach to bridging the worlds of tradition and innovation. Their performances showcase not only technical mastery but also a deep connection to the cultural roots of Crete.
