SFERA ft. Rino Cirinna' | Offbeat

Beloved Maltese pianist, singer and composer Paul Giordimaina pays tribute to the late father of the Malta Jazz Festival with his 2024 release ‘Gatt Groove’. With contributions from the likes of vocalist Nadine Axisa and trombonist Bertil Strandberg among others, this album heralds yet another chapter in the pianist’s already long and fruitful career as a bandleader, and sees him break new ground as much in his compositional style as in his improvisations.

Inviting this time Rino Cirinnà, an Italian saxophonist with a close relationship to the Maltese jazz scene, Giordimaina’s SFERA will give us 2 nights that will resemble something out of a certain jazz bar in Paceville from a couple of decades ago, in the early hours of a Sunday.
