Kicked off in November 2001 by teenagers Christian Attard and Wayne Richard, A.i quickly carved a niche for themselves in Malta's electronic underground scene. Starting with small gigs across the island, their big break came with a residency at the iconic Cubik nights at Liquid Club, placing them at the heart of Malta's underground movement alongside acts like Junior B and Darren Borg, then part of Auralbots.
A.i stood out for their mix of sounds, blending electro, techno, '80s synthwave, disco, and braindance, drawing a diverse crowd. Their knack for genre fusion got them gigs with well-known names in the scene like Dmx Krew, Ben Sims, Ceephax Acid, Luke Vibert, Derrick May, Dave Clarke, and Plaid. A standout moment for A.i was their performance at Bloc Weekend in the UK, showcasing their resonance beyond Malta's shores.
