Former 'The Velts' bassist, Cardona, will bring to you a selection of deep cut tunes, from 70s-80s pop, soul, r&b, reggae from ‘unsuspecting’ regions around the world. Ranging from South American reggae to African 80s electronic, jet-lag is pretty much guaranteed the next day.
Imramma Tuesdays is a new monthly session curated by Gringo and Big throughout 2024 where select people bring the sounds they listen to in the small corners of their homes to SR’s intimate space. Taken from Maltese, “ġurdien tal-imramma” refers to the little mouse that often appears peeping through faults in limestone walls. What’s less known is the meaning of “imramma”, a form meaning “house” which features in Il-Kantilena, the first fully formed literary piece written in the Maltese language back in the 1400s which outlines “imrammti” as a house.
