ALL HANDS LOST ANNOUNCE NEW EP MERIDIAN, OUT 25 AUGUST 2026

Maltese instrumental progressive metal outfit All Hands Lost are set to release their second EP, Meridian, on 25 August 2026, preceded by the lead single "Mantra" on 11 August 2026. The EP will be available on all major streaming platforms and Bandcamp.

Meridian marks a significant moment in the band's catalogue. Where recent standalone singles saw All Hands Lost exploring new sonic territory and pushing the boundaries of their sound, this six-track collection doubles down on the melodic sensibility, atmosphere, and immersive soundscapes that have always defined the project, while reflecting a more deliberate and refined compositional approach than anything that came before. The result is a record that feels cohesive and intentional, with listeners who heard the debut noting how naturally the songs flow into one another.

Thematically, Meridian moves through contrasting emotional states; affirmation, dread, acceptance, struggle, and ultimately a kind of heavy-hearted resolve. The tracklist reflects that arc across six pieces that range from guitar-driven ambience to moments of intense, driving heaviness.

Meridian was entirely self-produced by Jean Vella, who handled all guitar, recording, mixing, and mastering duties, an approach that has always been central to All Hands Lost's identity, enabling the kind of experimentation and sonic variety that defines the project. Bass duties on the EP were handled by Claudio Toscano, whose contributions have been a key part of the All Hands Lost sound since the debut EP.

Founded in 2020, All Hands Lost is an instrumental progressive metal project with elements of progressive rock. Originally launched as a solo project by Jean Vella, the project has since grown into a collaborative effort, embracing melodic soundscapes, intricate guitar work, and introspection, balancing heavy-hitting technicality with deeply emotive elements.
