LANGUAGE out March 14
For fans of: London Grammar, Art School Girlfriend, The xx, RY X and Björk
Berne released Language on March 14, 2024. Language is the first track from Berne’s debut album 789 out October 2024. The album is inspired by how we as humans interact with the planet, animals, and each other.
Language is a creative expression of the challenges of being in environments where one’s values and beliefs aren’t appreciated, understood or welcome. It explores the feelings that come with the stark realisation that climate and social justice are not always the priority. Language is accompanied by a DIY music video, filmed and edited by Berne and friends in Malta.
Berne explain: “We are thrilled to be sharing Language, a track that has taken us on an interesting genre exploration and helped us refine our signature sound. We really enjoyed developing Language with Wesley Frankel on saxophone, mixed by Mercury Prize winner and Music Producer’s Guild winner Shuta Shinoda and mastered by Music Producer’s Guild Mastering Engineer of the Year 2023 Cicely Balston.”
Berne will be planting a tree for each pre-save ahead of the release via Just One Tree.
Berne are supporting Theanò in Haggerston, London on March 27.
“A duo addressing injustice through music and beyond.” BBC Introducing
“... Berne have created a body of work that intricately weaves important messages within lustrous soundscapes, emitting the only extra warmth the planet needs with their glowing sonics. Stay is a tender insight into two passionate minds wanting to collectively make a change; it's a call for unity and collective responsibility and it's time we make a change.” Earmilk
