Different Strings are proud to announce the release of their fifth studio album, The Great Divide, set for digital release on 9th March 2026. The album will be available on all major digital platforms (excluding Spotify) as well as via the band’s official Bandcamp page. Pre-orders commenced on 23rd February 2026.

The Great Divide will be released in digital format and as a limited CD digipak edition. The release date for the digipak format will be announced in due course.

With a runtime of over one hour, the album showcases Different Strings’ signature progressive sound across six tracks. It features two epic compositions running 18 and 22 minutes respectively, alongside four shorter tracks. These include “Words Unspoken,” which has been newly re-mixed for enhanced sound quality and re-mastered for album cohesion, and “Apathy Symphony,” also re-mastered to ensure a unified sonic experience.

On this release, Chris Mallia collaborates with four international vocalists, a gospel choir, and a saxophone player. The album also features acclaimed keyboardist Derek Sherinian, who performs Hammond and all keyboard parts on “Words Unspoken.”

The Great Divide is a composite concept album that explores complex themes such as mental illness, anachronism, and the experience of being a misfit. Musically, it is crafted for listeners who appreciate 1970s progressive rock and classic guitar- and keyboard-driven rock enriched with classical influences.

Different Strings encourage supporters to purchase the album directly from the band, as this financial support contributes directly toward future releases.
