At just fourteen years of age, in 1976, he formed his first band, The Black Jacks, together with several school friends. Coming from the locality where his musical journey first began, the award carried a particularly personal significance.

Despite an already remarkable career spanning five decades, Eric has never shown signs of slowing down. Instead, 2026 has become one of the most important years of his artistic life. On 10 July, exactly fifty years after first introducing himself as a musician, he released his long-awaited debut solo album, Spin-Off.

The title itself reflects a fitting continuation rather than a departure. Although Eric has spent most of his career associated with X-Tend, Spin-Off presents an opportunity to showcase his own individual artistic voice while drawing upon the immense experience accumulated over fifty years of songwriting, recording and performing.
