Krishna return with Absence as Loss, a deeply immersive new record that expands on the emotional and sonic weight of their previous release Headless. Centered around the enduring presence of absence, the album traces the void left behind by loss, how it reshapes lives, sets unseen chains of events in motion, and quietly becomes something we learn to grow around rather than escape.

Across its runtime, Absence as Loss sees the Maltese instrumental duo push further into their identity, refining a sound that pulls from post-metal, post-rock, drone, ambient, doom, and beyond, without ever settling into one form. The result is a body of work that feels both heavier and more introspective, deliberate, patient, and unflinchingly honest.

Krishna is an instrumental heavy music duo from Malta consisting of Timothy Garrett on guitar and Alan Darmanin on drums. Krishna’s sound is very much indefinable, however, in musical terms, it channels such styles and techniques of post-metal, post-rock, drone, ambient, stoner, doom as well as a host of other genres.
