MOTHERKNIVES
‘BROTHERS’

Motherknives unveil their debut single ‘Brothers’ releasing today via Kewn Records. A powerful anthem of unity and emotional resistance, and framed as the theme song of a united force, the army Motherknives is led by a female warrior born from a spirit of abuse and separation. Inspired by Middle Eastern, Japanese, and French female warriors throughout history, she stands as a symbolic mother of spirits bringing men together to be supportive and protective of one another, without segregation across religion, race, gender, or class.
Brothers captures a constant emotional war that exists in the past, present, and future. It is a call to stand in equal, sensitive protest. To stop killing, to end division, and to move forward as a unified force.
Both defiant and vulnerable, the single channels strength through solidarity.

Francesca Mercieca – vocals, keys
Quentin Falzon – drums
Steve Shaw – bass
Tony Bartolo – guitar
Emerging from the basement garage, Motherknives are shaped by 90s underground influences while blending elements of 80s goth, heavy rock riffs, pop-like melodies, and trip-hop atmospheres. Their sound is both raw and cinematic, being grounded in alternative grit yet driven by melody.
The debut single was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Capitol K.
