Leander Announces Debut Solo Release “Orthodox”

Multi-instrumentalist and bassist for The Marmalades, Leander, has officially launched his debut solo release, Orthodox, a heavy instrumental track defined by its progressive structure and atmospheric depth.

Built around intensity as its central driving force, Orthodox takes its name from the orthodox stance in boxing. The track was originally composed as a walkout piece for Leander’s debut boxing bout one year ago. Reflecting its origins, the composition carries a deliberate sense of build-up, tension, focus, and controlled aggression throughout.

Accompanying the release is a visualizer featuring a rose set against a rundown battlefield. As the visual unfolds, the rose gradually sheds its red hue to become white, symbolizing change and transformation. This imagery mirrors the track’s underlying themes, reinforcing a progression from raw intensity toward clarity and evolution.

Orthodox marks the starting point of Leander’s solo project. With additional material already in development, he is expected to expand on this foundation, exploring a broader and more dynamic, genre-blending musical direction in future releases.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on March 23, 2026, Leander commented: “New week, new song out now on all streaming platforms! Huge thanks to David Depasquale at SpineSplitter Studio for mixing and mastering and Victor Hugo for the amazing artwork.”
