MALTESE METAL BAND MUR.DOC 104 CELEBRATE THE 5TH ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR NOW INFAMOUS SINGLE "INSOLENZA" WITH FIRST EVENT OF THE YEAR "5 SNIN TA' INSOLENZA"
Taking place on Saturday, 19th April 2025 at The Garage in Zebbug, "5 Snin ta' Insolenza" will see local thrash metal ambassadors Mur.Doc 104 play their first show of 2025 supported by Maltese Stoner-Doom quartet A Black White Satellite. A special limited edition t-shirt will be available on sale to commemorate the event.
"It's easily one of the most beloved songs by our fans. It's also probably the very first pure thrash metal song written in Maltese and we're sort of really proud of that!" said Mur.Doc 104's drummer Oliver Farrugia.
Released as a single during the peak of the COVID pandemic, "Insolenza" was the band's response to keeping the band active during the restrictions. "We never intended for it to be political but the frustration and social anxiety of the time were palpable and we wanted to express that rage and frustration through our music. Not being able to meet as a band for months on end was painful" concluded Oliver.
The track was written in 24 hours and recorded in less than a week. The single was later included as a bonus track in the physical edition of the EP "The Undying". Insolenza can also be found on all major streaming platforms.
The event is being organized by Mur.Doc 104. Active since 2015, the local quintet is known for their fierce yet melodic rhythm sections, versatile drumming and powerful vocals. They have made a name for themselves by giving energetic live performances in events such as the Malta Doom Metal Festival, Metal over Malta and the Farsons Beer Festival amongst others. In March of 2023, they released their debut EP titled "The Undying" receiving major positive reviews from both the local and international press.
