Play That Power Chord: School of Rock – The Musical
Gets Ready to Rock Malta This October
Revamp MT presents Andrew Lloyd Webber’s family-friendly musical
at the MCC for one weekend only – and tickets are already selling fast.

Class is in session this October – and it’s rocking Malta with the smash-hit School of Rock – The Musical, in a weekend of electrifying performances at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
Based on the Paramount movie written by Mike White and starring Jack Black, the Tony-nominated musical adaptation of School of Rock features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, a book by Julian Fellowes and lyrics by Glenn Slater.
Like the movie, the musical follows wannabe rock star Dewey Finn as he cons his way into a teaching job at a prestigious prep school. Trading textbooks for electric guitars, Dewey inspires his students to form a rock band and compete in the Battle of the Bands – all while discovering that they have just as much to teach him about friendship, courage and staying true to yourself.
Revamp MT’s production brings together an outstanding cast led by James Ryder as the irrepressible Dewey Finn, alongside Natassja Chapman as headteacher Rosalie Mullins, Alessio Buhagiar as Ned Schneebly, Bertha Farrugia as Patty Di Marco and Rachel Grech as Ms Sheinkopf.

And, in true School of Rock style, the classroom comes to life with a talented ensemble of young performers – including Leah Grech and Michela Caruana, sharing the role of Summer Hathaway – playing their own instruments live on stage, promising a rock concert atmosphere and unforgettable moments that both young and young-at-heart audiences will love.
The creative team behind the production also makes the most of Revamp MT’s reputation for delivering bold theatre experiences in Malta, following its other acclaimed productions including The Band’s Visit in 2023. Musical theatre veteran Dorothy Bezzina directs, alongside musical director Edward Mifsud, production manager Karl Borg and choreographer Samaria Bezzina. Sergio Costa and Mohamed Ali ‘Dali’ Aguerbi complete the line-up with dynamic sound and lighting design.
With its infectious score, laugh-out-loud humour and heartfelt message – not to mention an exceptional cast of young and adult performers, playing live – School of Rock offers an unmissable night of entertainment created with families in mind, blending musical theatre with the buzz of a live rock gig.

“School of Rock is a show of pure joy. It’s a celebration of music, friendship and finding your voice, and it lifts you up from the first note,” says Dorothy Bezzina. “I’m so grateful to be working with such a diverse and talented cast, children and adults alike, who filled the room with their beautiful harmonies from day one. This production is giving us the chance to mentor young performers and help them grow in confidence, not just as triple threats, but as actor-musicians too. We’re so excited to share their talent and energy with audiences in Malta this October – make sure to book early and be part of the fun!”
The Revamp MT production of School of Rock – The Musical will run for one weekend only, with both matinee and evening performances between 10-12 October 2025 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. Recommended for audiences aged six and over, with mild parental discretion advised. This production was made possible by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd.
