Subterranean: the underground music event Malta has been waiting for

Malta’s underground scene keeps getting richer, but it often feels as if there is no proper place to accommodate it.

Malta's newest underground music event, Subterranean, is putting community at the heart of everything. With a mission to uplift emerging artists and give Malta's underground music scene the platform it deserves, it aims to create a recurring space outside of the mainstream circuit built by the scene, for the scene.

The first edition takes place on 23rd August at The Garage, bringing together three of Malta's most exciting underground acts. Sry4.wav, Malta's first and only cloud-rap collective, will be taking to the stage for a live performance, joined by DJ sets from Rockstariq and Psychic with focus on trap and EDM, showing the depth and diversity of what Malta's underground has to offer.

Ukrainian streetwear brand Okrug 31, based in Malta and a familiar name within the local skateboarding community, will be present on the night as a vendor, bringing the skate and music communities together under one roof.

Subterranean is not just a one-off. It is the beginning of something much bigger: a recurring platform with ambitions to grow alongside the scene.
