Malta Concert Orchestra to Celebrate the Legacy of Joe Cutajar and Sammy Murgo on June 14



The Malta Concert Orchestra (MCO) is set to kick off its summer season with a heartfelt tribute to two beloved veterans of jazz and swing, Joe Cutajar and Sammy Murgo. This special event, MCO Big Band Swings, will take place on June 14 at Pjazza Teatru Rjal, celebrating the remarkable contributions of the late singer and saxophonist.


Both Cutajar and Murgo had graced the stage of Pjazza Teatru Rjal as soloists, leaving an indelible mark on the local music scene with their memorable performances. The concert promises to be a fitting homage, bringing together fans and musicians to honor their enduring legacy.


Summer Concert Series Highlights

Following the tribute concert, the MCO has lined up a diverse and exciting summer program:


MCO Pop, Funk, Rock on June 28: A dynamic concert showcasing popular hits across pop, funk, and rock genres.

Cartoni Animati (Cartoons) Theme Songs on July 26: A nostalgic evening featuring beloved cartoon theme songs from the 1980s and 1990s.

Notte Italiana (Italian Night) on August 23: The highly anticipated annual event celebrating Italian music and culture.

MCO Soul, Rhythm ‘n’ Blues on September 13: A soulful concert dedicated to rhythm and blues classics.

Tour Music Fest: Europe's Premier Contest for Emerging Artists



Tour Music Fest, renowned as Europe's largest live contest for new, young, and emerging musical talent, invites participants from across the continent. Singers, singer-songwriters, rappers, musicians, and DJs from all over Europe are encouraged to showcase their talent in their preferred language.


How to Participate:

Step 1: Smart Audition

The journey begins with an online preliminary round. Aspiring artists must submit their audio or video recordings for review by an expert panel. Following the submission, participants will receive personalized feedback during a scheduled online session with a designated Tour Music Fest panel member. This panel comprises artistic producers, record labels, musicians, vocal coaches, songwriters, and rap producers, all dedicated to helping artists hone their skills for the Live Auditions.


Step 2: Live Audition

Live auditions are conducted in 12 European countries, where artists perform in front of the official TMF judging panel. After the performance, the panel holds a private interview to provide professional feedback and advice. Participants also receive photos and videos to commemorate the experience. Malta's live auditions are set to take place in Sliema on October 20, 2024.


Step 3: The European Finals

Artists who excel in the Live Auditions advance to the European Finals, held in stunning theatres before an enthusiastic audience. The organization covers accommodation expenses for the finalists. During the finals, artists receive continuous support from coaches to enhance their performance. They also have the chance to attend educational masterclasses, interviews, and artistic meetings, fostering collaboration and networking with industry professionals and fellow emerging artists from across Europe. This year, the finals will be hosted in the picturesque Republic of San Marino, nestled in the heart of Italy.

16th Edition of Opera vs Pop Under the Stars to Feature Renowned Soprano Pamela Cibrano


The much-anticipated 16th edition of "Opera vs Pop Under the Stars" will be held at the Ggantija Archaeological Park on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 8:30 p.m. This year, the event proudly welcomes back Pamela Cibrano from New York, USA, the original soprano who graced the first 12 editions of this annual concert.

Cibrano will join current resident soprano Nicola Said, who hails from Malta and the UK, as well as guest soprano Francesca Power from the UK. The evening's performances will also feature resident bass Noel Galea from Gozo, Malta, pop tenor Ludwig Galea from Malta, pop singer Sarah Bonnici from Gozo, and the emerging musical theatre talent Tara Azar.

Sean Joins Viper Soup Complex on Guitars!


Viper Soup Complex announced the addition of Sean Anastasi as their new guitarist. Over the past few months, the band has had the pleasure of working with Sean, and it has been nothing short of a blast. His highly versatile and meticulous approach to songwriting has already started to make a significant impact, creating waves in the Viper camp. With three new tracks completed, the band is eager to showcase their new material to their fans.


Sean's impressive guitar skills are well-known, and he also plays with the thrash metal band Grotium, bringing a wealth of experience and talent to his new role. His fresh and exciting energy is sure to enhance The Vipers' music even further.


At this moment, The Vipers would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Glenn Sultana for his dedicated service and contributions to the band. They wish him all the best in his future endeavours and will always cherish the adventures and memories shared during their journey together.


Viper Soup Complex's first live performance with Sean Anastasi is set to take place on September 24th during the Rockit Experience, opening the night when Oblique Visions are set to perform with The St. Paul Metropolitan Orchestra, promising an unforgettable night of music and excitement.

Third Edition of Charles Buttigieg in Concert: A Night of Opera, Maltese, and Neapolitan Classics



The third edition of Charles Buttigieg in Concert promises to be an enchanting evening, showcasing a delightful selection of opera, Maltese and Neapolitan classics, and other popular songs. Set against the scenic and idyllic backdrop of Santa Lucija Square, this event is a must-see for music enthusiasts.


Headlined by the acclaimed baritone Charles Buttigieg, the concert also features a stellar lineup of performers, including Miriam Cauchi, Katherine Dobbs, Gianluca Bezzina, Ilyas Ige Sultana, and the SCJ Choir. The event will be conducted under the expert direction of Mro Mark Gauci, ensuring a night of unforgettable performances.
