< Back Simon Sammut Composer, Bass Simon Sammut commenced his musical journey at a tender age, delving into foundational studies that eventually propelled him to advanced levels of music education. Guided by his father Joseph, an accomplished bass player in his youth, Simon honed his bass playing skills. Under his father's tutelage, he not only mastered the instrument but also emerged as a sought-after bass player. Transitioning swiftly from rock to genres such as blues, soul, funk, and jazz, Simon broadened his musical repertoire. His evolution extended to playing the upright bass. As a performer, Simon collaborated with eminent musicians, engaging in diverse musical endeavors. His proficiency in reading music and his versatile, eclectic taste rendered him an active participant in significant musical events. For an extended period, he contributed his talents to various musicians, bands, and orchestras, including the prestigious Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. Beyond his role as a performer, Simon showcased his prowess as a composer, arranger, producer, and music teacher. In 2011, he marked a significant milestone with the production and release of his solo album, "BaSSic Attitude," a collaborative effort with multi-instrumentalist Alexander Kuzmin. In 2017, Simon unveiled his second album, "Crossing," featuring twelve compositions and complementary paintings centered around the theme of 'crossing.' Collaborating with artist Anthony Catania, this project showcased Simon's artistic versatility. Simon's influence extended globally, as he received an invitation from the Secretaría de Turismo y Cultura Morelos and the Centro Morelense De Las Artres in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico. Tasked with sharing his experiences and skills with the local musical artistic community, Simon, alongside collaborator Omar Vázquez, generated eight themes reflecting their musical tastes. The culmination of their collaboration resulted in the release of their first joint album, "Gravity," featuring musicians from both Malta and Mexico. The album traversed various sonorities and styles, including jazz fusion, funk, Latin, and world music. Rising Sunset < Back RISING SUNSET is a symphonic blackened death metal band hailing from the island nation of Malta, founded by Carlo Calamatta in 2001. < Back Melchior Busuttil Drums Michela Aquilina Melchior Busuttil born on 23rd August 1991 he comes from Pembroke. He is a Drummer/ Percussionist, Tutor and Producer/Studio Engineer. Born and raised in Malta, He has been playing drums professionally since the age of 16, and is a highly respected musician and educator, known for seamlessly and creatively merging technical ability with musicality. Melchior studied drums under the direction of the Maltese Percussionist Joe 'Bibi' Camilleri and also studied timpani, xylophone and other percussion instruments at the Malta School Of Music. Apart from Drums and Percussions he also studies music theory and Orchestration under the direction of Annmarie Chircop and graduated with distinction and honours. He is experienced in performing both live on stage, recording in the studio and on TV, with a diversity of artists in a broad range of styles.Not new to entertaining on big platforms, such as Muzika Muzika, Notte Bianca, Eurovision Song Contest, Ġensna, Beerfest/Winefest, Għanja tal Poplu, Kaxxaturi, Concerts with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, Teatru Unplugged, the annual Pantomime and other large scale events. Melchior has taken his work, both as a player and tutor, across Europe to countries like Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, Poland, France, Belgium, and others as well as further around the globe to places like Mexico and the United Arab Emirates. < Back Fabio Carraffa Guitarist Fabio Carraffa is a Blues/Rock/Metal guitarist with extensive experience both live and in the studio. He started playing electric guitar at the age of 13, forming the first bands with schoolmates in middle schools and his professional career began at age of 20 seeing him collaborate with many Italian artists (Zucchero Fornaciari, Andrea Mingardi, Mario Venuti, Vanadium/Pino Scotto, Maurizio Vandelli, Rita Pavone, Dody Battaglia, Fio Zanotti, Marco Rancati, Etc.) and with several international artists (Zakk Wylde, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch and Steve Vai) participating in many tours and TV shows in Italy and abroad. He carried on his studies through learning Spanish Flamenco guitar with Franco Brambati at NAMM music School Milan, Italy. He has worked for more than 15 years in national (Disma, MIS, Meet Show, Second Hand etc.) and international (Frankfurt Musikmesse, NAMM Show) music fairs as a demonstrative for the brands: Viper Guitars, Roland, Eko, Master Music, Washburn Guitars, Randall Amps, Marshall Amps, Rocktron and many more. He is currently sponsored by VIPER GUITARS and LABELLA strings. Fabio has been teaching electric guitar for over 25 years (Blues, Rock & Metal genres), he has taught in numerous schools in North Italy among which the Lizard Music Academy, Accademia di Musica Moderna, Massive Arts Music School, Yamaha Music School, MoonHouse Music School. Fabio has written several guitar books published by Amazon such as: ROCK GUITAR UNIVERSE, ROCK GUITAR MODES, PERFECT GUITAR CONTROL, READY to ROCK! Healso collaborated as a producer for the Carisch Spa publishing house on the entire ULTIMATE MINUS ONE series. Fabio is not only a guitarist but also a composer and producer. Thy Legion Damian Allison < Back Thy Legion is a Blackened Death Metal band formed in 2004. The band consists of Tonio and Mark (ex-Martyrium) on Vocals, Elton and Emanuel (Hemplifier, Pilgrimage, Animamortua, Victims of Creation) on guitars; Kurt (ex-Martyrium) on bass; and Clayton on Drums(guitarist at Animamortua, session drummer at Abysmal Torment, sound engineer at XIR Studio). Throughout the years, Thy Legion performed with various artists both locally and abroad.
