Drogi - A Music-Theater Performance

What If Happiness Could Be Measured?
What if happiness was no longer just something you felt, but something that could be measured, monitored and optimised?
This is the question at the heart of DROGI, a new original music-theatre production by The Busker and directed by Sean Borg, combining music, theatre, humour and social satire in a provocative exploration of the human pursuit of happiness.
Set in a fictional dystopian world experiencing a supposed “Dopamine Drought”, DROGI introduces the Dopa-Meter, a device developed by the fictional corporation B-Corp that claims to measure a person's dopamine levels — and, ultimately, their happiness.
But what happens when happiness becomes a number?
Through the stories of three individuals, DROGI explores the many “highs” people pursue in everyday life — from relationships, success and validation to attention, consumption, excitement and stimulation. The show asks whether the things we repeatedly chase can become our own forms of “drugs”.
The title DROGI is deliberately provocative. However, the production is not about recreational substances, it is about our relationship with pleasure, reward, dependency and the constant search for something that will make us feel good.
Featuring music from The Busker's upcoming album Something in My Head, the performance combines a part-autobiographical, part-fictional story with theatrical humour and moments of vulnerability.
Ultimately, DROGI asks audiences to consider their own “drogi” — the things they chase, consume or depend upon in the hope of feeling fulfilled — and whether happiness can really be found through the pursuit of the next high.
