Devil's Breath press release

Santa Sangre Magazine Reviews Devil’s Breath Albums and Looks Ahead to the Project’s Upcoming Releases.

The Polish underground music magazine features both albums released by the Maltese experimental project through the Greek label Zazen Sounds.

Santa Sangre Magazine is no stranger to Devil’s Breath. The Polish publication has featured the Maltese experimental music project in its annual compilations, with both members also contributing through their respective solo aliases, Cultura Obscura and Esoteric Ethiopia.

The relationship between Devil’s Breath and Santa Sangre Magazine has now taken another step forward with the publication of a new video review by Przemyslaw Murzyn, the person behind the magazine. In addition to organising Santa Sangre Magazine's annual compilations, Murzyn is a musician himself and regularly produces video reviews covering music releases.

The newly published video begins with a brief introduction to Malta before turning its attention to the two albums released so far by Devil’s Breath, both issued through the Greek label Zazen Sounds.

The albums under review are Embrace Of The Serpent, released in 2022, and Abandoned By Humans - Adopted By Wolves, released in 2025. Together, the two releases represent different stages in the project's musical journey and provide an opportunity to explore the development of Devil’s Breath through its recorded output.

The video review can be watched on Santa Sangre Magazine's YouTube channel.

Two Albums, Two Chapters in Devil’s Breath's Journey

Released in 2022, Embrace Of The Serpent marked an important chapter in Devil’s Breath's recorded history. The album introduced listeners to the project's approach to experimental music, establishing a sound rooted in darker atmospheres and unconventional sonic exploration.

The project continued its journey with Abandoned By Humans - Adopted By Wolves, released in 2025. The album further developed Devil’s Breath's musical identity, continuing its exploration of experimental and challenging soundscapes.

Both albums were released through Zazen Sounds, the Greek label responsible for bringing these works to listeners beyond Malta.

Listeners interested in exploring the albums can find them on the project's official Bandcamp page.

New Music Expected Before the End of 2026

Beyond the attention generated by the video review, Devil’s Breath has also confirmed that more new music is expected before the end of 2026.

Among the forthcoming releases is a new collaborative album with a Costa Rican artist based in Costa Rica. Further details regarding the collaboration and its release are expected in due course.

The project is also preparing two tracks for compilation releases. One of these will appear on the seventh annual compilation released by Music Analysis Discussions Records, a label whose core team includes both members of Devil’s Breath, who together form two-thirds of the people behind the label.

The same compilation will also feature contributions from Cultura Obscura and Esoteric Ethiopia, giving the two musicians an opportunity to present their respective solo projects alongside their work as Devil’s Breath.

These forthcoming releases will add to an already active period for the musicians, whose involvement extends beyond their principal project into solo recordings, collaborative works and the organisation of compilation releases through Music Analysis Discussions Records.

With the Santa Sangre Magazine video review now available, listeners have a new opportunity to revisit Devil’s Breath's first two albums while looking forward to the next chapter in the project's evolving musical journey.
