< Back Nadine Axisa Singer Nadine Axisa is an established versatile singer, with a passion for smooth jazz, latin, swing and soul music. She received vocal training in classical singing at a young age and discovered her love for jazz music through the performance in clubs and bars in her late teens. Nadine studied jazz classics, attended and followed a number of workshops with acclaimed tutors including Tina May, Iain Mackenzie, Guillermo Rozenthuler, Donna Mc Elroy, Dennis Montgomery III and Anne Peckham. She later pursued her studies at the Malta School of Music with Joe Debono. Nadine released her debut album 'Velvet' in 2014 featuring twelve original tracks, mostly composed by Maltese composers and authors in the smooth jazz style. The album also involves a collaboration with two musicians from Germany and Italy. The album received favourable reviews including a four-star review on the UK's Jazz Journal. Moreover, it was featured on Maltese and international radios; the latter include www.virginiamusic.eu 'Mainly jazz' on Alive 107.3fm (UK); RTP Play (PT) and Channel Radio (UK). She was also interviewed and performed live on Jazz FM (UK). In March 2016, Nadine performed 'Velvet in concert' in collaboration with a quartet consisting of local musicians. In December 2019 she released her second album, “Il-Ħoss tal-Għabex”, which involves the reworking of Maltese tunes, most of which were published in the 1970s and 80s. The tunes were taken through a process of re-imagination, a journey involving experimentation from a melodic, harmonic, rhythmic and sonic perspective. The album received several favourable reviews whilst being awarded best album in Maltese in the Malta Music Awards 2020. Since September 2021 she is presenting a jazz radio show on Radju Malta 93.7fm, Malta’s national radio station, with the name ‘Nadine’s Jazz Boutique’. The show is also available online as a Podcast. She performs regularly in local jazz venues and has also performed outside Malta in numerous jazz events and festivals, including Poland, Bulgaria, Italy, Berlin, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Austria and Egypt. < Back Charlie Muscat Guitars Paloma Pictures Charlie ‘Paletti’ Muscat, a prolific guitarist and songwriter, has left an indelible mark on the music scene with a diverse discography spanning several decades. Born with a passion for instrumental expression, Charlie's musical journey began in 1993 with the release of his debut album, "STYLES." A 10-track instrumental masterpiece, the album showcased Charlie's multifaceted talents as he took on the roles of writer, recorder, producer, and distributor. Following the success of his first venture, Charlie swiftly moved on to his second album, "I Believe," in 1995. Motivated by a sense of urgency and a noble cause, this 9-track album was crafted, recorded, produced, and released in a remarkable four months, utilizing a 4-track audio cassette recorder. The prolific artist continued his creative odyssey with the third album, "Ahjar gibna tnejn biex jghannu," a sprawling collection of 18 tracks. The writing process extended from 1995 to 1999, culminating in the album's production and release in the year 2000. From 2019 till 2023 Charlie played guitars alongside guitarist Robert Tomasuolo in Lord Adder and appears on ‘Operation Pedastal’ and ‘1565’ both released in 2022. Charlie's fourth offering, "Jam Sessions Vol 1," marked a departure in style, capturing a small fraction of the extensive jam sessions he had been recording since 2017. The album, consisting of 10 tracks, evolved gradually over the years, and was meticulously organized and released in 2023, showcasing Charlie's commitment to his craft. Returning to his roots, the fifth album, "my Guitar Instrumentals," echoed the instrumental theme of his debut. With 12 tracks, the album traced Charlie's musical evolution from 1991 to 2023, offering a captivating journey through his recording career. Diversifying his portfolio, the sixth album, "my Various Artists," showcased Charlie's songwriting prowess for other artists. Comprising 10 songs written between 2005 and 2023, some of which he performed himself, the album highlighted Charlie's versatility and collaborative spirit. In a poignant finale, Charlie presented his seventh and last album, "The 7th Piece," a compilation of past works and recent productions. Spanning from 1997 to 2023, the album was a testament to Charlie's enduring creativity. With a promise of an additional song, the album aimed to complete its lineup with a total of 10 songs. Every piece of Charlie Muscat's extensive body of work has been digitally remixed and remastered, a testament to his dedication to preserving the essence of the original recordings. < Back Alexia Baldacchino Vocals facebook.com Alexia Baldacchino, born in 1981, Maltese, painter and Artisan from Sliema, Malta. Alexia is the founding member of the acclaimed metal band Memento Nostri (currently inactive). The band she created focused on promoting Maltese history, in particular the Great Siege of 1565 which was the theme chosen for the concept album. In August 2006, the band launched their first single to much critical acclaim. Memento Nostri launched their promo album Pro Patria at Montekristo Estates on August 21, 2010 in an event that also featured the official launch of the band and the video of the CD's title track. They were warmly received by the general public, and quickly established Memento Nostri as one of the more unique bands our local music scene has produced. The band was nominated for 2 awards at the Malta Music Awards 2010, namely Best Heavy Metal Band and Best website, winning the latter. It was a great honour to be nominated for two awards especially having entered the awards with an EP, not a full-length album. Given the unique music combination and theme, the band received various requests from offshores record labels and touring possibilities but circumstances concerning the other band members, the band had to decline. During 2013 and 2014, she also was the vocalist of a Medieval inspired band called Bibita where together with her fellow band members she performed all around Malta in various events. Since then Alexia together with her husband, formed a duo named Tryst Arcane, creating a unique style of music which style they are calling ‘Minimal Dark’. Deliberately shorn of any conventional percussive arrangements, Tryst Arcane’s music emanates simply from an esoteric rendezvous of sweeping keys’ riffs combined with mystifying vocal melodies. Lyrics garner elements of mysticism mixed with realism pertinent to our existence.The first EP ‘Autumn’ was released on most digital platforms on the 7th October 2019 and the CD was released on 4th November, 2019. The Vinyl version was released on 7th November 2021, accompanied by a live virtual launch, released on Youtube, during Covid times. The second EP ‘Sun Of Other Days’, (featuring Emanuel Portelli, a great musician and good friend from Victims of Creation, Hemplifier, Thy Legion & Animamortua) will be released on most digital platforms on 11th August 2023, and later in 2023 this will also be released on Vinyl. From this EP, the single LURA will be released on most digital platforms on 23rd June 2023. 2023. Currently Alexia is also involved with various bands and musicians featuring as guest vocalist. < Back Kurt Cristina Guitarist Being born with the first name of the frontman of the band Nirvana, was more than enough motivation for Kurt to pick up guitar as his main instrument. Playing since the age of 5, Kurt has been fascinated by lead guitarists of all genres, including the likes of jimmy page, peter green, John Mayer and Uli Roth to name a few. < Back Fabio Carraffa Guitarist Fabio Carraffa is a Blues/Rock/Metal guitarist with extensive experience both live and in the studio. He started playing electric guitar at the age of 13, forming the first bands with schoolmates in middle schools and his professional career began at age of 20 seeing him collaborate with many Italian artists (Zucchero Fornaciari, Andrea Mingardi, Mario Venuti, Vanadium/Pino Scotto, Maurizio Vandelli, Rita Pavone, Dody Battaglia, Fio Zanotti, Marco Rancati, Etc.) and with several international artists (Zakk Wylde, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch and Steve Vai) participating in many tours and TV shows in Italy and abroad. He carried on his studies through learning Spanish Flamenco guitar with Franco Brambati at NAMM music School Milan, Italy. He has worked for more than 15 years in national (Disma, MIS, Meet Show, Second Hand etc.) and international (Frankfurt Musikmesse, NAMM Show) music fairs as a demonstrative for the brands: Viper Guitars, Roland, Eko, Master Music, Washburn Guitars, Randall Amps, Marshall Amps, Rocktron and many more. He is currently sponsored by VIPER GUITARS and LABELLA strings. Fabio has been teaching electric guitar for over 25 years (Blues, Rock & Metal genres), he has taught in numerous schools in North Italy among which the Lizard Music Academy, Accademia di Musica Moderna, Massive Arts Music School, Yamaha Music School, MoonHouse Music School. Fabio has written several guitar books published by Amazon such as: ROCK GUITAR UNIVERSE, ROCK GUITAR MODES, PERFECT GUITAR CONTROL, READY to ROCK! Healso collaborated as a producer for the Carisch Spa publishing house on the entire ULTIMATE MINUS ONE series. Fabio is not only a guitarist but also a composer and producer. In recent years he has played in the United States in California, Nevada and Colorado playing his own instrumental pieces and gaining great consensus from the American public. Rankin < Back Rankin’s sound combines the bluesy influence of thumping rock/metal legends like Motörhead and Down with a heavy dose of groove metal and a touch of sludge, thrash and alternative rock. The Malta-based band is comprised of Shaun Farrugia (Guitar), Gimli Ukkonen (Drums), James Byrne (Vocals) and Callum Hayden (Bass). The band was formed in 2018 after Shaun and James, who worked together as a graphic designer and content writer respectively, began jamming together with bassist Alex Lapinniemi (who stepped down and was replaced by Callum in 2022). After joining with drummer and former black metal vocalist Gimli in 2019, the band quickly took on a more solid shape as a serious metal outfit and their mixture of influences melded together to create a distinct dark and sludgy, but melodic, sound. The band used the Covid years to record their first album ‘Chrysalis’ with Clayton Cini of XIR Mobile Recording Studio and released it in April 2022.
