  • Alexia Baldacchino, Vocals

< Back Alexia Baldacchino Vocals facebook.com Alexia Baldacchino, born in 1981, Maltese, painter and Artisan from Sliema, Malta. Alexia is the founding member of the acclaimed metal band Memento Nostri (currently inactive). The band she created focused on promoting Maltese history, in particular the Great Siege of 1565 which was the theme chosen for the concept album. In August 2006, the band launched their first single to much critical acclaim. Memento Nostri launched their promo album Pro Patria at Montekristo Estates on August 21, 2010 in an event that also featured the official launch of the band and the video of the CD's title track. They were warmly received by the general public, and quickly established Memento Nostri as one of the more unique bands our local music scene has produced. The band was nominated for 2 awards at the Malta Music Awards 2010, namely Best Heavy Metal Band and Best website, winning the latter. It was a great honour to be nominated for two awards especially having entered the awards with an EP, not a full-length album. Given the unique music combination and theme, the band received various requests from offshores record labels and touring possibilities but circumstances concerning the other band members, the band had to decline. During 2013 and 2014, she also was the vocalist of a Medieval inspired band called Bibita where together with her fellow band members she performed all around Malta in various events. Since then Alexia together with her husband, formed a duo named Tryst Arcane, creating a unique style of music which style they are calling ‘Minimal Dark’. Deliberately shorn of any conventional percussive arrangements, Tryst Arcane’s music emanates simply from an esoteric rendezvous of sweeping keys’ riffs combined with mystifying vocal melodies. Lyrics garner elements of mysticism mixed with realism pertinent to our existence. The first EP ‘Autumn’ was released on most digital platforms on the 7th October 2019 and the CD was released on 4th November, 2019. The Vinyl version was released on 7th November 2021, accompanied by a live virtual launch, released on Youtube, during Covid times. The second EP ‘Sun Of Other Days’, (featuring Emanuel Portelli, a great musician and good friend from Victims of Creation, Hemplifier, Thy Legion & Animamortua) will be released on most digital platforms on 11th August 2023, and later in 2023 this will also be released on Vinyl. From this EP, the single LURA will be released on most digital platforms on 23rd June 2023. 2023. Currently Alexia is also involved with various bands and musicians featuring as guest vocalist. • Noogie's Crew

Noogie's Crew < Back Noogie’s Crew was the dream of Nigel ‘Noogie’ Buttigieg, who at the age of sixteen, wanted to form a Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band with the intention of providing the rock scene a different sound, a sound that merged old school rock melodies and riffs with the rougher edges of modern metal. So when Noogie, on guitars and lead vocals, was joined by Charles Buttigieg and drummer Mario Dalli, they hit the ground running writing songs for Noogie’s Crew. Initially they perfomed as a trio, but in 2011 they were joined by guitarist Clive Brincat, playing at available musical venues on the Maltese islands. Another differnet thing in Noogie’s Crew was that both Charles and Mario did backing vocals to support Noogie in creating a differnet sound. In 2012, when Clive left the band, Noogie decided to concentrate more on his other venture, Infinite Loop . Noogie’s Crew took form again in 2017 , initially again as the original trio, when the first self-titled EP Noogie’s Crew, was recorded. In 2017 the band was joined by David Cassar Torreggiani on lead guitar, particpating in festivals, one of which was headlined by Blaze Bailey at the Orpheum in Gzira. When David Cassar Torrgiani decided to move on, Jonathan Camilleri joined the crew. With the inclusion of Jonathan, the band continued to improve its song writing abilites and gig performances. In 2019 the band supported Dee Snider, Kryptos and Kiss Forever. 2019 was also the year when Noogie’s Crew launched a full album entitled ‘ Till Dark Returns’. This was an album that had something to offer to all types of metalheads; classic rock sounds, headbanging riffs plus speed, tightness, power and melody. An album that was given rave reviews by foreign rock magazines and podcasts. Noogie’s Crew did their last gig on 30th October 2021, when Noogie and Jonathan both separately decided to continue their musical life in different form. • Andy Fava, Guitars

< Back Andy Fava Guitars Modern Tribe Photography Andy has always been a thrash metal enthusiast and since dropping his first instrument, the bass guitar for his favoured 6-string axe he actively played and jammed to metal tunes which he later uploaded on his YouTube channel. Having no idea that Andy played guitar, Paul (Formosa, Drums) happened to come across Andy’s videos and immediately contacted him to start a Metal band. This did not happen until another two years as Andy had already joined the, now disbanded thrash metal band ‘Intoxicated’. Paul and Andy bumped into each other in July 2011 and they both asked each other the same question: “When are we starting a band?” Discography Date Title Type Listen Member of : Follow the artist

  • TACT

TACT < Back Formed in November 2009 by bandleader Franco Tartaglia, Tact (Tartaglia's Act) has a tune for every mood and a soundtrack for every season. Operating within the realm of introspective music, Tact's fusion of influences ranges from Classical, Jazz, Rock and Soundtrack music. Starting as compositions by Tartaglia, Tact's music takes shape into fully-fledged arrangements as the rest of the band add and lay down their hues, embellishments and creativity. Also, Tact's repertoire now includes other member's compositions. As a classical guitarist and a performer since a very young age, Tartaglia was never much interested in mainstream music. His first interests, apart from the classical guitar were musicians of notable stature who “strived to show the artistic aspect at the heart of music.” Rock and a newly found love for the electric guitar brought with it an interest in other genres such as blues, funk, fusion and eventually jazz fusion. Tact is also composed of another three members. On bass guitars is Charles Cassar, an electric bass guitar player influenced by funk, jazz and rock music also being the founder and band leader of local band Djun. On piano and vocals is Paul Torpiano, a classically-trained jazz pianist with a love of many contemporary styles, allowing him to bring a unique playing approach to Tact, also being the keyboardist with Djun and leading his solo project PT etc. Rounding off Tact is drummer and percussionist Carl Matthew Camilleri, a regular performer with the big band Versatile Brass and on productions by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. Tact released its first album 'Brushworks' in 2015 launched at Robert Samut Hall Floriana supported by Arts Council Malta recorded at Lito's Place. In 2017 Tact released a music video for the track 'All Is True' from the Album 'Brushworks'. The launch was at the Splendid Hotel in Valletta. In 2019 Tact recorded three compositions at the Church of St Ubaldeska in Paola which were released as three music videos collaborating with 'Late Interactive' for light design, Francesco Debeno as videographer, Sergio Costa as recording engineer and Temple Studios for mixing and mastering. In 2018 Tact was a supporting act at the V18 events opening for guitarist Carlos Bojarski held at the Bacchus in Mdina. In 2019 Tact put up a performance together with Andre Mangon and Marceline Galea as literature contributors alongside music by Tact and choreography by dancers Florinda Camilleri and Zoe Camilleri. In 2023 Tact recorded three tracks at Temple Studios the first track 'Catharsis' was released in March 2024 accompanied by a film by Kenneth Scicluna and Klara Vassallo Band Members Carl Matthew Camilleri Drums Carl Matthew Camilleri Paul Torpiano Vocals, Keyboards Paul Torpiano Charles Cassar Bass Charles Cassar Franco Tartaglia Guitars Franco Tartaglia Discography Date Title Type Listen Buy the band's merch Follow the band Previous Band Next Band

  • Karl Friggieri, Guitar, Bass

< Back Karl Friggieri Guitar, Bass Karl Friggieri has been active in the Maltese metal underground scene since 1995. Phantom Lord: (1999 – 2004) Phantom Lord, a thrash/speed metal quintet which had some early power metal melodic influences. Playing bass guitar alongside his brother Robert on drums, Aldo Chircop and Mario Cassar on guitars and Andre’ Spiteri on vocals, Karl contributed to writing the lyrics on a number of the band’s tracks as well as lending a hand in the composition of various tracks. Unfortunately, the band’s original material from this period was only played live on a few occasions with the 7-minute track Faded Spirit being the only track which was ever released through the band’s MySpace page . Blind Saviour: (2005 - ) A fully-fledged Power Metal band fronted by Rachel Grech on vox, Robert Friggieri on drums, Aldo Chircop and Campos Gellel on guitars. The band played quite a few gigs including a number of major Metal festivals in Malta. In 2016 the band released its debut album The Master Plan, which was soon followed by a mini-tour in the UK and Italy to promote the album. In 2018 the single Father of the Wolf, a power metal interpretation of the Amon Amarth track was recorded as a limited release on all major digital platforms. The band is currently on an indefinite hiatus. There are plans to release a more material in the near future. Kill ’em All: (2016 – 2017) It all started off as a one-gig project with Karl being invited to join guitarist Campos Gellel and vocalist Francesco Degabriele to play hits from the first Metallica album. Soon after Aldo Chircop on guitars and Edward Tagliaferro on drums completed the line-up. The band played a few gigs and festivals and proved to have a very decent following. Sonic Storm: (2017 - ) The band came into being soon after Kill ‘em All called it a day. Karl recruited Frans Degabriele on guitars and vocals and Edward Tagliaferro on drums. The trio played a number of live gigs and festivals in Malta. In 2021 Paul Formosa replaced Edward on drums while a year later Sean Attard was recruited on 2 nd guitar to complete the line- up. A second guitarist - Artem Efimov from Ukraine recorded guitars on the first single, Feel the Rot.
