Sad Madona

And what a better way to open up the first day of Dark Malta Festival 2026 than with Sad Madona. Rémi Lauvergne will create the right melancholic atmosphere by blending elements of gothic, techno, and shoegaze.  Make sure to make it early so not to miss out on one of the finest electro/synth projects around.

ERATO

For more than 30 years, since 1993, the band from Brussels has built up a reputation as one of  Belgium's best Goth Rock/Dark Wave acts. Despite quite some changes in the line-up, Erato could always count on a large fanbase. With A Killed God, The Irreplaceable One, Erato - III and NAiVe they conquered the hearts of many dark oriented music lovers. It's however with their strong live performances, that they kept convincing friends and foes. It was no coincidence that they have shared a stage with other legends as Skeletal Family, Inkubus Sukkubus, Ikon, Faith and the Muse, The Sisters of Mercy, and many others.

In 1992, drummer Jussi 69 joined the group, establishing a lineup that has remained unchanged since. The band's music combines elements of gothic rock, glam metal, and rock 'n' roll, resulting in a style known as "goth 'n roll."  With too many good songs to choose from, we are more than sure that they will turn this into an experience we will all remember.
