< Back Jes Psaila Guitars Having studied classical guitar for a few years, Jes turned to electric guitar in his teens, with an interest in 70’s progressive rock and jazz to follow soon after. Over the years he has been involved in various projects, playing as a sideman in bands stylistically ranging from folk to jazz ensembles. He has a particular interest in improvisation, composition and music for theatre productions. Following a self-titled solo album launched in March 2014, and the live performance recording of DUOs in April 2017, guitarist Jes Psaila’s current endeavour is the Hinge Project. Recorded in October 2019 at Temple Studios, the album stylistically tends towards cross-over jazz and is made up of seven instrumental tracks. Working on this project are Mark Attard on piano & keyboards, Luke Briffa on drums & percussion and André Micallef on bass guitar, each offering their individual seasoned sound to the guitarist’s original compositions. < Back Cezar Adrian Pinzaru Vocals Matea Blazhevska Cezar is a half-Maltese, half-Romanian who has lived in Malta for the past 13 years and also goes by the nickname 'Hybrid'. He discovered heavy metal at the age of 16, and in 2018 decided to pursue his passion for vocals. He was previously the vocalist in the band Dead Impaled, which unfortunately came to a halt in mid-2022. He is heavily influenced by Dark Funeral, Septicflesh, Arch Enemy, and Semblant. < Back Daniel Vassallo Guitars Daniel Vassallo was born on the 24th January 2006. Music has always been part of his life and was particularly fascinated by the guitar. He started learning/playing at eleven on acoustic, and although he transferred to playing electrical, he continues his studies on classical guitar playing getting his o’levels and now is working on intermediate level. Still, rock was always important, and Daniel tried with a number of different bands until Soul, with whom as he stated: “Guitar and rock have truly saved my life and in this band I feel (at) home, as songs aren’t written, they’re simply released”. < Back Charlie Muscat Guitars Paloma Pictures Charlie ‘Paletti’ Muscat, a prolific guitarist and songwriter, has left an indelible mark on the music scene with a diverse discography spanning several decades. Born with a passion for instrumental expression, Charlie's musical journey began in 1993 with the release of his debut album, "STYLES." A 10-track instrumental masterpiece, the album showcased Charlie's multifaceted talents as he took on the roles of writer, recorder, producer, and distributor. Following the success of his first venture, Charlie swiftly moved on to his second album, "I Believe," in 1995. Motivated by a sense of urgency and a noble cause, this 9-track album was crafted, recorded, produced, and released in a remarkable four months, utilizing a 4-track audio cassette recorder. The prolific artist continued his creative odyssey with the third album, "Ahjar gibna tnejn biex jghannu," a sprawling collection of 18 tracks. The writing process extended from 1995 to 1999, culminating in the album's production and release in the year 2000. From 2019 till 2023 Charlie played guitars alongside guitarist Robert Tomasuolo in Lord Adder and appears on ‘Operation Pedastal’ and ‘1565’ both released in 2022. Charlie's fourth offering, "Jam Sessions Vol 1," marked a departure in style, capturing a small fraction of the extensive jam sessions he had been recording since 2017. The album, consisting of 10 tracks, evolved gradually over the years, and was meticulously organized and released in 2023, showcasing Charlie's commitment to his craft. Returning to his roots, the fifth album, "my Guitar Instrumentals," echoed the instrumental theme of his debut. With 12 tracks, the album traced Charlie's musical evolution from 1991 to 2023, offering a captivating journey through his recording career. Diversifying his portfolio, the sixth album, "my Various Artists," showcased Charlie's songwriting prowess for other artists. Comprising 10 songs written between 2005 and 2023, some of which he performed himself, the album highlighted Charlie's versatility and collaborative spirit. In a poignant finale, Charlie presented his seventh and last album, "The 7th Piece," a compilation of past works and recent productions. Spanning from 1997 to 2023, the album was a testament to Charlie's enduring creativity. With a promise of an additional song, the album aimed to complete its lineup with a total of 10 songs. Every piece of Charlie Muscat's extensive body of work has been digitally remixed and remastered, a testament to his dedication to preserving the essence of the original recordings. At the age of 13, he expanded his repertoire by embracing the dynamic rhythms of drums, a transformative experience that paved the way for his first band, marking the beginning of an exhilarating musical adventure. Driven by his thirst for knowledge and growth, Christoffer continued his music education at a higher level, earning various theory diplomas along the way. As an artist, he has had the privilege of releasing original music with multiple bands, with each collaboration pushing the boundaries of creativity. The release of his original music holds a special place for him, as it provides a direct avenue to share his expressed emotions and feelings through the power of music with others. Presently, Christoffer thrives as a versatile session musician, lending his skills to around eight different bands and musicians. Vinyl Paradise < Back Vinyl Paradise is a Maltese blues/blues-rock power-trio made up of Ben Bailey (guitar/vocals), Patrick Camilleri (drums) and Antoine Tonna (bass). Their collective love for the blues and knowledge of its conventions and techniques have resulted in the band delivering their own masterful take on the genre to audiences right across Malta and the UK. The three have had years of musical focus to develop their unique style, first meeting in the band The Creepers - another blues band focused on replicating the sound of ‘vintage American blues’ - and later forming the trio Vinyl Paradise in January 2017. The band spent the next few years honing their skillset and playing countless festivals, clubs, and concerts to an ever-growing audience. In February 2023, the band wrote and recorded a five-song live EP called “Live at Winehouse”, which they toured around London and Kent a few months later, with stops at venues including the Troubadour, the St Moritz Club Soho, and the Bourne Music Club. With the release of their debut album “Vinyl Paradise”, written entirely by the band and recorded at David Vella’s outstanding Temple Studios, the band is now geared and ready to take their bluesy sound and exhilarating live show to the global stage. Vinyl Paradise takes inspiration from the likes of the “3 Kings”, Cream, Gary Clark Jr, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, amongst others. Their style blends blues, funk, rock n‘ roll, and soul, with deep grooves on the bass and drums laying the foundation for deft guitar-work and 60s-soul-inspired vocals. These elements are immediately recognisable in their original work, as well as any covers in their set, which are always reworked to satisfy these criteria. Atomic Flame < Back Atomic Flame is a heavy metal band that was formed in 2022, rising from the ashes of other bands and the chaos of CoVid 19. The band comprises of four members, Lawrence Baldacchino, Nigel Buttigieg, Charles Buttigieg, and Marco Mule. In 2021, Lawrence Baldacchino, an experienced drummer, and Campos Gellel, a talented guitarist, met up to jam with the intention of forming a heavy metal band after their previous stints in bands like Fire and 12th Ode for Lawrence and Angelcrypt and Blind Saviour for Campos. The demise of Noogie's Crew in October 2021 provided an opportunity for Lawrence to approach Nigel "Noogie" Buttigieg, who accepted the invitation. With the band still incomplete, the search was on for a bassist, and in December 2021, Charles Buttigieg joined the band. Charles brought with him the lyrical talent that completed the band's musical ideas and formed them into songs. In July 2022, Campos Gellel left the band, leading to the band being renamed as Atomic Flame. The band quickly found a replacement in the form of Marco Mule, who hails from Sicily and has experience playing with bands such as Ricercados. On January 21st, 2023, Atomic Flame made their debut at The Garage in Zebbug, playing to a sell-out crowd of enthusiastic fans who came to witness these talented musicians back on stage. In 2024, Mule had to leave the band for personal reasons the Atomic Flame quickly found a new guitaris in James Galea, who was absent from the scene for around 10 years. Maleth Crucis Maria Catania < Back Maleth Crucis is a death metal band from Malta, formed in June 2020 by Carlo Calamatta (song writer & guitarist) and Michael Grech Sammut (vocals). The band soon enrolled Joseph Camilleri (Bass) after the name Maleth Crucis was baptised. The name Maleth Crucis comes from both Phoenician and Latin language. Maleth is the name given to our country, Malta, during the Carthaginians rule around the year 480 B.C. The name Crucis is the Latin word for Cross which is directly linked to the knights of Saint John. The band will take you into a journey of different stages of the Maltese history throughout the Punic period, Byzantine rule, Arab period, Norman Kingdom of Sicily rule, the Knights of St. John, the French and British occupation and enticing legends related to Malta. < Back Steve Buttigieg Piano Steve is a Gozitan pianist who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Malta. He began his musical journey at the age of 6 when he first started studying piano. As a pianist, Steve collaborates with a number of local artist and bands, playing at weddings, concerts, and various events all over the Maltese islands. Aside from this love for instrumental music. Steve has a keen interest in musical theatre and operatic music. He has participated in numerous opera and theatrical performances, showcasing his versatility as a musician. Currently, Steve is also a piano teacher at Clef House, where he imparts his knowledge and passion for music to aspiring young pianists.
