- Mark Tonna, Singer
< Back Mark Tonna Singer Mark Tonna is a Maltese singer, songwriter, and composer whose musical journey began in the small town of Żurrieq, where he was born on March 13, 1963. His love for music sparked early—at just eleven years old, he formed a school choir and guitar group to perform during mass, laying the foundation for a lifelong artistic career. In the years that followed, Mark explored various musical styles, performing in pop and rock bands—often alongside his brother Claudio—before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist in 1993. His voice and stage presence quickly gained attention in both the local and international music scenes. Mark's debut album Before My Eyes was released in 1996, featuring twelve tracks, nine of which he personally wrote and composed. That same year, he debuted his first original musical Jisimni Katarina, inspired by the life of St. Catherine. He followed it up with Mill-Jasar Għall-Qawmien, a second musical centered around the passion of Christ, for which he wrote both music and lyrics. Throughout his career, Mark has been a consistent presence in Malta's major music festivals. He participated in Kanzunetta għall-Ewropa, the Malta International Song Festival, L-Għanja tal-Poplu—which he won in 1996 with the song Allerġija Għall-Bnedmin—and Konkors Kanżunetta Indipendenza, where he claimed first place in 2000 with Waħdek Ma Tkun Qatt. Mark's talent also carried him beyond Malta’s shores. He represented the country at the Discovery Festival in Bulgaria in 1998, winning the Best International Artistic Performance award. His international performances have taken him to Tunisia, Italy, Dubai, the UK, Turkey, the USA, Canada, and Australia—where he toured with fellow Maltese artist Debbie Scerri, performing for Maltese communities abroad. A versatile performer, Mark has also starred in a variety of local and international musicals, including Ali Baba, It-Tfajla tal-Palazz, Ir-Rebbieħ, and Ħidmietna—a 2013 production commemorating the 70th anniversary of the General Workers Union. For four consecutive years, he was nominated for Best Male Singer at the Malta Music Awards, a testament to his enduring impact on the Maltese music scene. Whether as a vocalist, composer, or lyricist, Mark Tonna has remained a passionate and prolific figure in Maltese music—bringing heartfelt stories to life through song and stage. - Killerwitch
Killerwitch facebook.com/Killerwitch.Malta < Back Killerwitch began when guitarists Jeremy, and Owen (Sacro Sanctus/Ex-Viper Soup Complex) and bassist Gino (Characters) decided to carry on with music together after their former band 12th Ode disbanded in 2018. Luke (Mur.Doc 104) and Claudio joined the band on vocals and drums respectively in early 2019, thus the band line-up was complete. With most of the members being new as well as having taken a different musical style than 12th Ode, it was decided that the band should focus on entirely new material, and thus Killerwitch was officially born. The band started recording their debut album in early 2020, which was officially released later in November of the same year. It was shortly after the release when Killerwitch had to part ways with their original drummer Claudio in 2021 and recruited Gareth (Ex-Hecate Enthroned) in 2022, once again completing their line-up. Killerwitch's debut gig was in May 2022 supporting Pilgrimage, followed by several other gigs that same year alongside Midnight Priest, Angel Martyr, Forsaken and Storace amongst others. - Myles Azzopardi, Singer | Bassist
< Back Myles Azzopardi Singer | Bassist n/a Myles’ journey into music began in his childhood, where he vividly remembers sitting on the floor of his parents’ living room, captivated by MTV rock concerts. Despite having no musicians in his family, he was always drawn to sound. This fascination turned into a reality at the age of 8 when he saw a Squier Stratocaster guitar at a friend’s house, and decided then and there to take guitar lessons. That decision sparked a passion that would define much of his life. The moment that truly ignited his dream of becoming a professional musician came with the creation of his first song, “Take It All Away” with his band Msleads. This song gave Myles the confidence he needed to pursue music more seriously, and it’s a moment he looks back on as pivotal in his journey. Growing up, Myles was heavily influenced by iconic bands like Green Day, Blink-182, and Sum 41, which can be heard in his own music. He also cites bands like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Rage Against the Machine as major inspirations, influencing the way he approaches his songwriting with heavy guitar riffs and intense energy. His style is rooted in these early influences, blending punk rock’s rawness with the aggression of nu-metal. Between 2002 and 2008, Myles underwent formal training as a guitarist, but his musical development didn’t stop there. Over the years, he taught himself to play bass, piano, drums, and even honed his vocal skills, adding depth to his musicianship. His passion for experimenting with different instruments and genres led him to explore the intersection of hip-hop and metal, a combination that he finds fascinating and unique. Myles has been involved in several projects throughout his career, including Msleads and Milk Mi, where he played guitar and provided backing vocals. His role with Lapes was particularly memorable as he composed the album “Merhba Malta” and contributed backing vocals. He also co-composed “The 6th Chapter” with D Legacy. As a solo artist, Myles has released two EPs: "Wasted Youth Facility" and "Chronic Feelings". One of the most memorable performances of his career was the release of "Chronic Feelings" at 97Notes, a moment that stood out for the crowd’s intense engagement. It felt special for Myles to witness his music resonate with an audience, solidifying his desire to continue creating. However, his path hasn’t always been smooth. After spending over eight years in a band, Myles experienced a shift in common goals among the members, leading to a painful break. He compares the experience to a breakup, one that led him to take a temporary hiatus from music. Despite this, he quickly realized how vital music was to his life and found his way back, collaborating with different artists and reigniting his passion. One of the milestones he’s most proud of is the success of his solo project, for which he gives a great deal of credit to DJ Mac at Valhalla Music, who believed in his vision and helped bring it to life. His solo work has allowed him to take full creative control and explore new themes like self-awareness, mental health, and anti-political sentiment, areas that are becoming increasingly central to his music. Looking to the future, Myles has no shortage of projects. He’s currently working on two mixtapes—one of which will feature songs in Maltese, and the other will be a collaboration with Owen Leuellen. He’s also gearing up for a full-length album, set to be released in 2025, which promises to showcase his evolution as an artist. 2025 saw Myles teaming up with renowned band Kill the Action , becoming their latest bassist. If given the chance to collaborate with any artist, living or dead, Myles would choose Mac Miller. His dream would be to recreate Miller’s iconic NPR Tiny Desk Concert, a performance that holds a special place in Myles’ heart. Outside of music, Myles has a passion for adrenaline-pumping activities like extreme sports: surfing, skating, and motocross. He also enjoys working with his hands, often building his own furniture, which adds another layer of creativity to his life. Myles’ story is one of resilience, self-discovery, and an ever-evolving love for music. From his early days as a wide-eyed child watching rock concerts on TV to his current exploration of hip-hop and metal, he continues to push boundaries and find new ways to express himself. With numerous projects on the horizon, there’s no doubt that his musical journey is far from over.
