< Back Grace Elizabeth Victoria Singer Grace is a 21-year-old originally from the UK, now living in Malta for the past nine years. Music has always been at the heart of her life. From a young age, she trained in musical theatre and has been performing for over a decade. Her early background was rooted in musical theatre and classical music, while her love for timeless music naturally led her toward jazz and classic performance styles. In her late teens and early adulthood, Grace performed with a theatre company, singing musical theatre favorites and jazz classics. During her teenage years, she discovered a deep passion for rock and roll, especially the iconic sounds of 60s and 70s rock. Wanting to bring that energy to a modern audience, she set out to revive the music she loved by joining a band. Influenced by Dark Ambient, Industrial, Ritual, Tribal and certain aspects of Techno, both members came together with the notion that music is an artistic concept with no restrictions and no boundaries. Rights and liberties of indigenous people, the mysticism and horror of the inevitable suffering and inexorable death, misanthropy and natural environment are the themes which inspire Devil’s Breath most. < Back Carl Cassar Bassist Facebook Carl Cassar’s musical journey began during his secondary school years, influenced by friends who played instruments and his brother’s eclectic CD collection. These early inspirations set him on a path that would lead to a lifelong passion for music, though he never pursued it professionally. Instead, Carl describes himself as a musician who follows his passion while maintaining a day job outside the music world. One of the most significant periods in Carl's life was his adolescence, where his love for music took root. While he may not be a full-time musician, music is a deep passion that shapes much of his identity. He’s had formal training in guitar for several years but is a self-taught bass player, a role he particularly enjoys. Over the years, Carl’s approach to music has been shaped by a multitude of influences, making it difficult for him to single out a particular artist or style that defines his work. This multitude of inspirations contributes to the unique and diverse nature of his musical approach. Carl is most drawn to genres like jazz fusion and progressive rock, which allow for diversity and complexity, but he doesn’t like to be pigeonholed. “There’s good music in any genre,” he explains, which reflects his broad musical exploration and open-mindedness. This ethos has guided his involvement in several bands, although many have not made it beyond the rehearsal space. One of his standout projects was Xidja, a hip-hop band performing original songs in Maltese, where the bass played a pivotal role. Though Xidja didn’t break through commercially, it remains a special project for Carl. Currently, Carl is part of From Sheep to Wolves, a collaboration that has lasted for nearly four years—his longest and most stable band involvement to date. He attributes this to the successful balance of expectations and ambitions within the band, acknowledging the challenges that come with maintaining harmony in a group. For Carl, the dynamics within a band can be tricky, and in the past, drama and conflicting visions have caused issues. However, with From Sheep to Wolves, Carl feels like they are “doing something right.” Carl’s musical experiences are diverse, but one of his most cherished memories was his first live performance at the age of 12, where he played guitar for a school band. Moments like this, and every instance where he sees people enjoying his music, are his proudest achievements. He is especially excited about the upcoming debut album with From Sheep to Wolves and the ongoing work on their second album. The band’s sound has evolved, and Carl believes that’s a healthy progression. Outside of the band, Carl is also exploring the possibility of working on non-metal projects, keeping his creative horizons wide open. Carl's hopes for his audience are simple but profound. In an age where 30-second clips dominate attention spans, he wishes for listeners to experience the full album journey, appreciating the depth and thoughtfulness of a complete body of work from start to finish. If given the opportunity, Carl would love to jam with Tim Commerford from Audioslave, particularly to play something from their first album. As a nod to his deep admiration for the band’s late frontman, Carl jokes that he’d also give Chris Cornell a big hug during the session. A fun fact about Carl that might surprise his audience is that, although he is left-handed, he plays the bass guitar right-handed—a unique quirk that reflects his unconventional approach to both music and life. Through his rich musical experiences and diverse collaborations, Carl Cassar embodies a deep commitment to his art, driven by passion rather than profession. Whether in a rehearsal space or on stage, Carl continues to explore new musical frontiers while staying true to the joy and freedom that music brings him. The band was formed in 2025, bringing together four accomplished musicians who have collaborated in various musical settings over the years. Each member contributes a wealth of experience drawn from jazz, fusion, and contemporary music, combining their individual voices into a unified sound that is both energetic and refined. Chasing Pandora Matt Hush < Back In May of 2007, Chasing Pandora unveiled their inaugural album, “Mocking the Mocking Bird,” which garnered significant local raise. Later that year, in December, the band clinched three Malta Music Awards, further solidifying their acclaim. In April 2008, Chasing Pandora presented the EP "Two," notably featuring the popular track "Memories," which earned a nomination for "Best Song" at the Malta Music Awards. Throughout 2008, the band graced various stages in Malta and London. Come November, they introduced their second EP, “Wide Eyed Beautiful.” The launch of their second full album, “The Driver and the Dancer,” in June 2009, was followed by a series of vibrant gigs in London, with positive reviews flowing in from esteemed sources like "The Fly," "Acoustic Music Magazine," and "Rock N Reel." The end of 2009 witnessed the release of Chasing Pandora's inaugural single in the UK, "Running in Circles," subsequently featured on BBC Radio 2 and contributing to another round of gigs in London. This triumph paved the way for the UK release of "The Driver and the Dancer" in 2010, where it was met with an enthusiastic reception at the RoundHouse Music Room, playing to a packed audience. This album also earned a commendable review in The Independent newspaper and was performed live as part of the Janice Long BBC Radio show. Following the launch of their fourth EP, “People,” Chasing Pandora earned an invitation to perform at the North by North-East Festival in Toronto, an honor bestowed upon them from a pool of 600,000 applicants, making them one of 6,000 bands to grace the event. < Back Giuseppe Labruzzo Bass Giuseppe Labruzzo, originally from Sicily and currently residing in Lombardy, has embraced various musical shades throughout his career, ranging from Rockabilly to Metal. At the age 15, inspired by Nirvana, he started playing the bass, becoming a self-taught musician with the valuable support of his cousin. Together with another Giuseppe and Lorenzo, he joined a band called MD and contributed to the recording of the album "Endless Rain," characterized by the post-punk genre. They took their music around Sicily, performing in various venues. For a brief period, he experimented with the double bass to explore the world of country music. Despite his passion for music, Giuseppe pursued studies in Biotechnology and currently teaches chemistry and biology in the province of Monza. Giuseppe Labruzzo has recently joined Rock Band Monkey Riot. The encounter with Monkey Riot through an advertisement was crucial, as he found in them the desire, camaraderie, seriousness, and availability he has always looked for in a band. Giuseppe is eager to share his passion with them, hoping to play anywhere and live significant musical experiences in the near future. < Back Enzo Guzman Singer Enzo Gusman, born Laurence Gusman on August 9, 1947, in Sliema, Malta, was a beloved Maltese singer, broadcaster, and entertainer who left an indelible mark on the island's music scene. Discovered by the late comic actor Johnnie Navarro at a young age, Gusman's journey into the world of entertainment began early. He showcased his vocal talent as the vocalist of the Maltese pop group "The Boys" in 1964 before embarking on a career in banking. However, his passion for music persisted, leading him to participate in numerous international song festivals where he garnered acclaim and recognition. Throughout his career, Gusman's versatility as a singer was evident as he effortlessly transitioned between romantic ballads, catchy pop tunes, and even opera. He captivated audiences with his performances, winning prestigious awards such as the 'First Prize' at the Golden Orpheus Festival in Bulgaria and being declared the Best Interpreter at the Istanbul International Song Festival. Additionally, Gusman's own compositions became cherished classics in Malta and beyond, ensuring his enduring legacy in the Maltese diaspora. Beyond his musical accomplishments, Gusman was a prominent figure in Maltese radio and television, hosting popular shows like "Bejn il-Ħbieb" on Calypso Radio, where he endeared himself to listeners by affectionately referring to them as friends. He used his platform to advocate for causes close to his heart, notably championing blood donation and promoting the Maltese language and heritage. Gusman's dedication to his craft and his contributions to Maltese culture were recognized with awards such as the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika in 2008, honoring his decades-long commitment to entertainment and broadcasting. His influence extended beyond his professional achievements, as he also left a lasting impact on those who knew him personally. Fondly remembered for his warmth, humor, and love for his homeland, Gusman touched the lives of many, leaving behind a rich musical legacy that will continue to resonate for generations to come. On December 18, 2021, Enzo Gusman passed away peacefully at his home in Canada, surrounded by his loved ones, bringing an end to a remarkable journey that spanned decades. As tributes poured in from friends, colleagues, and fans, it became clear that while Gusman may have left this world, his music and memory would endure, ensuring that his spirit lives on eternally in the hearts of all who were touched by his artistry.
