< Back Alex Carachi Vocals Alexia Baldacchino A medical doctor by profession, Alex’s lyrics are influenced by his interest in poetry, literature and history, most prominently eighteenth century UK poets such as Alfred Lord Tennyson, Rudyard Kipling, and William Wordsworth, as well as nineteenth century Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. In his own words, “lyrics, like life are poetry, and in their sorrow we find the end so that anew we can gain life”. Lyrics throughout the songs touch upon themes of betrayal (as in the track Yudah), war, and the frailty of mankind in a world that is concerned more with imagery and corruption rather than the individual himself. The emotional charge in his singing strongly reflects the intensity of the lyrics whilst also imbuing the songs with a creative element at the appropriate moments. The stylistic trait comes mostly to life along his occasional use of the ancient Italic language of Latin as well as verses that come with direct poetic and literary references. Kill the Action DP Attard < Back Kill The Action (KTA) is composed of musicians from different corners of the music community. The band blends melodic and heavy guitar sounds with ambient style synths, fat synth bass sounds, groovy beats, and deep vocal lines to create a unique sound. In January 2016, KTA released its debut single The Inside, followed by Last Train (Straight to Nowhere) (June 2016). The band then went on to release No Place Like Home (December 2017), Falling (February 2018) and Fat Boy (April 2018), off its 6-track EP For All You People. In February 2020, KTA released the album Anti-Gravity under ‘Forbidden Musical Rites’ based in Bristol (UK). The title-track Anti-Gravity (August 2019) and Kill it With Fire (January 2020) were released as singles. This album saw the band delve deeper into the world of Bass music, with larger-sounding synths, bigger up-tempo beats and a healthier dose of low frequencies, traditionally associated with the world of ‘Drum & Bass’, ‘Big Beat’ and ‘Dub-Step’. In January 2023, KTA released Level, the first track off its upcoming EP. The band’s new material is driven by a boost of energy, characteristic of its live performances, designed to bridge the gap between Man and Machine. The Myth Etienne Farrell < Back Dion Farrell and Mark Galea formed The Myth in September 1990. The band's first live appearance was two months later, during which they performed two cover versions. Their early style is described by some as 'bridging American melodic rock with the more classic European influences' (The Times, November 1996). Such tracks include Master Of Death, The Anthem and the self-titled The Myth. These songs featured long guitar solos with powerful drumming and melodic bass lines. During this period the band released two singles, Can't Stop The Fire and Midnight. Although both singles were aired on radio stations and played on TV channels, they were not released for sale to the public. From 1996 The Myth began experimenting with a completely different sound. Panpipes and tambourines replaced the long guitar solos, and the songs became quieter and more acoustic in nature. Wise Men and The Truth are just two of such songs. In early 2005, The Myth ventured into the commercial scene. Although written in 1996, Sworn Independent was finally recorded in 2007 and was released as a single in the same year. The success of the track led to more radio-friendly tracks such as Star and Animal being written. Animal was the band's first single to have an official music video. Further radio hits followed with How Does It Feel? and Dreams. On 8 August 2011, The Myth released its first album. Dreams, which featured all the singles that the band released. In November of the same year the band was nominated for the Best Website Award in the Malta Music Awards. Referred to as the Pop Rock era, it was obvious right from the launch of the single Sadness in your Eyes in 2012 that the band was once again playing a completely different sound. A few months later this single was followed up by a dance remix version by DJ/Producer DJ Toby. Both versions of this single were featured in the movie Silhouette in 2013.
