  • Nigel 'Noogie' Buttigieg, Vocals, Guitars

< Back Nigel 'Noogie' Buttigieg Vocals, Guitars Nigel grew up around music. Following his dad and fellow band member, Charles Buttigieg around, during his rehearsals with his old bands, taking him to gigs and telling him stories of how Malta was rich in live music during the eighties, a scene which was dominated by rock, punk, metal and new romantics. Listening to these stories Nigel strongly believes that he was born in the wrong era. And agrees that he really got into music when his dad put on Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' on their old stereo. His father says that after his son heard that song, no one could stop him from singing. He was 10. Then he heard Iron Maiden's 'Number of the Beast' and at that time the thing that impressed him the most wasn't Bruce Dickinson's vocals, (which by the way he was, still is and will always will be the best vocalist that ever lived in his opinion) it was Maiden's musicianship and the chemistry together, and that's when he decided to start playing an instrument. He started off by learning and playing the drums, but after 4 years Nigel realised, he wanted something more up front facing the crowds, so he switched to guitar and had been hooked ever since. • Alexia Baldacchino, Vocals

< Back Alexia Baldacchino Vocals facebook.com Alexia Baldacchino, born in 1981, Maltese, painter and Artisan from Sliema, Malta. Alexia is the founding member of the acclaimed metal band Memento Nostri (currently inactive). The band she created focused on promoting Maltese history, in particular the Great Siege of 1565 which was the theme chosen for the concept album. In August 2006, the band launched their first single to much critical acclaim. Memento Nostri launched their promo album Pro Patria at Montekristo Estates on August 21, 2010 in an event that also featured the official launch of the band and the video of the CD's title track. They were warmly received by the general public, and quickly established Memento Nostri as one of the more unique bands our local music scene has produced. The band was nominated for 2 awards at the Malta Music Awards 2010, namely Best Heavy Metal Band and Best website, winning the latter. It was a great honour to be nominated for two awards especially having entered the awards with an EP, not a full-length album. Given the unique music combination and theme, the band received various requests from offshores record labels and touring possibilities but circumstances concerning the other band members, the band had to decline. During 2013 and 2014, she also was the vocalist of a Medieval inspired band called Bibita where together with her fellow band members she performed all around Malta in various events. Since then Alexia together with her husband, formed a duo named Tryst Arcane, creating a unique style of music which style they are calling ‘Minimal Dark’. Deliberately shorn of any conventional percussive arrangements, Tryst Arcane’s music emanates simply from an esoteric rendezvous of sweeping keys’ riffs combined with mystifying vocal melodies. Lyrics garner elements of mysticism mixed with realism pertinent to our existence. The first EP ‘Autumn’ was released on most digital platforms on the 7th October 2019 and the CD was released on 4th November, 2019. The Vinyl version was released on 7th November 2021, accompanied by a live virtual launch, released on Youtube, during Covid times. The second EP ‘Sun Of Other Days’, (featuring Emanuel Portelli, a great musician and good friend from Victims of Creation, Hemplifier, Thy Legion & Animamortua) will be released on most digital platforms on 11th August 2023, and later in 2023 this will also be released on Vinyl. From this EP, the single LURA will be released on most digital platforms on 23rd June 2023. 2023. Currently Alexia is also involved with various bands and musicians featuring as guest vocalist. • Myles Azzopardi, Singer | Bassist

< Back Myles Azzopardi Singer | Bassist n/a Myles’ journey into music began in his childhood, where he vividly remembers sitting on the floor of his parents’ living room, captivated by MTV rock concerts. Despite having no musicians in his family, he was always drawn to sound. This fascination turned into a reality at the age of 8 when he saw a Squier Stratocaster guitar at a friend’s house, and decided then and there to take guitar lessons. That decision sparked a passion that would define much of his life. The moment that truly ignited his dream of becoming a professional musician came with the creation of his first song, “Take It All Away” with his band Msleads. This song gave Myles the confidence he needed to pursue music more seriously, and it’s a moment he looks back on as pivotal in his journey. Growing up, Myles was heavily influenced by iconic bands like Green Day, Blink-182, and Sum 41, which can be heard in his own music. He also cites bands like Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Rage Against the Machine as major inspirations, influencing the way he approaches his songwriting with heavy guitar riffs and intense energy. His style is rooted in these early influences, blending punk rock’s rawness with the aggression of nu-metal. Between 2002 and 2008, Myles underwent formal training as a guitarist, but his musical development didn’t stop there. Over the years, he taught himself to play bass, piano, drums, and even honed his vocal skills, adding depth to his musicianship. His passion for experimenting with different instruments and genres led him to explore the intersection of hip-hop and metal, a combination that he finds fascinating and unique. Myles has been involved in several projects throughout his career, including Msleads and Milk Mi, where he played guitar and provided backing vocals. His role with Lapes was particularly memorable as he composed the album “Merhba Malta” and contributed backing vocals. He also co-composed “The 6th Chapter” with D Legacy. As a solo artist, Myles has released two EPs: "Wasted Youth Facility" and "Chronic Feelings". One of the most memorable performances of his career was the release of "Chronic Feelings" at 97Notes, a moment that stood out for the crowd’s intense engagement. It felt special for Myles to witness his music resonate with an audience, solidifying his desire to continue creating. However, his path hasn’t always been smooth. After spending over eight years in a band, Myles experienced a shift in common goals among the members, leading to a painful break. He compares the experience to a breakup, one that led him to take a temporary hiatus from music. Despite this, he quickly realized how vital music was to his life and found his way back, collaborating with different artists and reigniting his passion. One of the milestones he’s most proud of is the success of his solo project, for which he gives a great deal of credit to DJ Mac at Valhalla Music, who believed in his vision and helped bring it to life. His solo work has allowed him to take full creative control and explore new themes like self-awareness, mental health, and anti-political sentiment, areas that are becoming increasingly central to his music. Looking to the future, Myles has no shortage of projects. He’s currently working on two mixtapes—one of which will feature songs in Maltese, and the other will be a collaboration with Owen Leuellen. He’s also gearing up for a full-length album, set to be released in 2025, which promises to showcase his evolution as an artist. 2025 saw Myles teaming up with renowned band Kill the Action , becoming their latest bassist. If given the chance to collaborate with any artist, living or dead, Myles would choose Mac Miller. His dream would be to recreate Miller’s iconic NPR Tiny Desk Concert, a performance that holds a special place in Myles’ heart. Outside of music, Myles has a passion for adrenaline-pumping activities like extreme sports: surfing, skating, and motocross. He also enjoys working with his hands, often building his own furniture, which adds another layer of creativity to his life. Myles’ story is one of resilience, self-discovery, and an ever-evolving love for music. From his early days as a wide-eyed child watching rock concerts on TV to his current exploration of hip-hop and metal, he continues to push boundaries and find new ways to express himself. With numerous projects on the horizon, there’s no doubt that his musical journey is far from over.
