Lightspeed Collision Luke Azzopardi < Back Founded in 2020 by sibling duo Vlad (on drums) and Gleb (guitar and vocals) with André (bass) and JP (guitar), Lightspeed Collision is an alternative metal band with influences of stoner and groove metal twinned with melodic passages. In November 2022 the band released its first single, ‘Your Worth’, as part of an upcoming EP. With more material in the pipeline, Lightspeed Collision is geared up to share its music within the local scene and beyond the Maltese shores. Devil's Breath < Back Devil's Breath is a project featuring Cultura Obscura and [Dis]event aka Office Of Exorcism. Influenced by Dark Ambient, Industrial, Ritual, Tribal and certain aspects of Techno, both members came together with the notion that music is an artistic concept with no restrictions and no boundaries. Rights and liberties of indigenous people, the mysticism and horror of the inevitable suffering and inexorable death, misanthropy and natural environment are the themes which inspire Devil’s Breath most. Labels so far Devil's Breath have released their music with include Raumklang Music (Germany), Zazen Sounds (Greece), Sombre Soniks (UK), Music Analysis Discussions Records (Russia + Malta) and Registros Sorbón (Costa Rica). < Back Liam Mizzi Peplow Vocals, Guitars Liam Mizzi Peplow, the rhythm guitarist and vocalist of the newly formed band Soul was born on a cold winter night on the 24*h February 2006 in Malta.From a young age, he was very active and involved in various extracurricular activities, be it an active member of the Scouts Group, musical theatre, drama and as well studying music theory and playing the trumpet at the Malta School of Music. Rock, metal, blues, and grunge were always his favourite genres, and during his free time, he started researching about music and got more interested in anything that had to do with the music. He showed particular interest in guitars. The first guitar that he was exposed to belonged to his father, and he started practicing random songs, mainly songs from The Beatles and Nirvana. The music theory helped him as a background to write songs, not only lyrics but as well as music compositions. It is his intention to pursue further his music career, both academically and practical. Ever Obscure < Back After this collective of five minds met at the Grasshopper for a couple of pints of Guinness and a glass of milk, the band name Ever Obscure was born. Introducing our members, drummer Cliff Cilia with a fondness for his snare drum; bassist Warren Vella dropping basslines like no other; guitarists Brenda Musú with a heart larger than her height and Aaron Barbara who joined to complete the band full circle; and vocalist Katinka Zahra Lehtonen writing her musings in song. < Back DJ Mac Music Producer | Scratching DJ | Hip hop DJ Facebook DJ Mac has been in the Hip Hop scene for over 25 years; from rapping to DJing and producing - he has done it all. His last time rapping was in the album with Effetti Kollaterali in 2008, and after that shifted his focus on production and Djing. He next released an album with chapter zero in 2012, and has since then worked on a variety of projects with various artists, local and international. In 2021 DJ Mac produced the album “Merhba Malta” with rapper Lapes and guitarist Myles, “The 6th Chapter” with D Legacy is his next project that will be coming your way soon enough. When compiling his DJ set, DJ Mac puts the turntables to good use, as an instrument to manipulate the recorded version of songs with cuts, scratches and mixes to create his own style, welcoming listeners to the art of turntablism. Turntablism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating new music, sound effects, mixes and other creative sounds and beats, typically by using two or more turntables and a cross fader-equipped DJ mixer. Vinyl Paradise < Back Vinyl Paradise is a Maltese blues/blues-rock power-trio made up of Ben Bailey (guitar/vocals), Patrick Camilleri (drums) and Antoine Tonna (bass). Their collective love for the blues and knowledge of its conventions and techniques have resulted in the band delivering their own masterful take on the genre to audiences right across Malta and the UK. The three have had years of musical focus to develop their unique style, first meeting in the band The Creepers - another blues band focused on replicating the sound of ‘vintage American blues’ - and later forming the trio Vinyl Paradise in January 2017. The band spent the next few years honing their skillset and playing countless festivals, clubs, and concerts to an ever-growing audience. In February 2023, the band wrote and recorded a five-song live EP called “Live at Winehouse”, which they toured around London and Kent a few months later, with stops at venues including the Troubadour, the St Moritz Club Soho, and the Bourne Music Club. With the release of their debut album “Vinyl Paradise”, written entirely by the band and recorded at David Vella’s outstanding Temple Studios, the band is now geared and ready to take their bluesy sound and exhilarating live show to the global stage. Vinyl Paradise takes inspiration from the likes of the “3 Kings”, Cream, Gary Clark Jr, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix, amongst others. Their style blends blues, funk, rock n‘ roll, and soul, with deep grooves on the bass and drums laying the foundation for deft guitar-work and 60s-soul-inspired vocals. These elements are immediately recognisable in their original work, as well as any covers in their set, which are always reworked to satisfy these criteria. Different Minds Charisse Agius < Back Different Minds is a local pop rock band. It was originally formed more than 20 years ago but the band's ambitions were cut short because all instruments and sound systems were stolen from the garage they used to hire for reherseals. The original single 'I Can Change' was recorded during that period but eventually it was released 20 years later, when in Summer 2019 the founding members - lead singer Robert G and acoustic guitarist Jason Mizzi - decided to regroup Different Minds again. Former keyboardist Elton Abela joined as well. Jeff Hailey on lead guitars, Godwin Debono on bass guitar and Julio Quintero on drums are the new members for this 6-men band. A total of 6 original singles were released by Different Minds. 'Across the Borderline' in 2020 and Helping Hand in 2022 are their most popular songs and both made it to the top places in the PRS Malta Airplay Chart and 'L-Aqwa 20 - Klassifika tal-Maltin'. The latest single 'Different Not Less' was released in April 2023. The band gig's are also popular for all-time pop rock cover versions.
