< Back Demis Fenech Singer / Songwriter Demis is a Maltese artist, guitarist, and producer with three albums, several singles, and production credits for other artists. He has performed in multiple bands and is known for melodic lines punctuated by tasteful technical flourishes that enhance each song. Early in his career he focused on virtuosity, then shifted toward a more song-centred approach, aiming to connect emotionally with listeners. Open-minded about influences—rock, classical, blues, metal, jazz, electronic beats, and atmospheric textures— Demis freely explores diverse musical directions. Captivated by the sound of the electric guitar, Demis first picked up the instrument in June 1995 at the age of 15. From that moment, he committed to intensive practice and has been playing ever since. Two years later, he founded his first band, ‘Myst,’ a Maltese Power Metal band that remained active for about five years. During this period, he also formed the band ‘Sidereal’ with keyboardist David Grech German, blending metal with gothic, classical, and atmospheric elements. Subsequent projects included Six Point Circle and FuseBox, where Demis expanded his musical style to encompass a broader range of genres. In 2007, Demis released his debut solo album, ‘Ethereal Travel,’ followed by his second album, Senspiration,’ in 2009, and his latest release, ‘Post Consolidation,’ in 2026. In addition to his band work, Demis has contributed to local theatre productions by producing and recording music. Driven by the increasing demands and expectations of artists, he ventured into mixing, mastering, and video production. This diversification created new opportunities, including collaboration with guitar soloist ‘Stefanos’, for whom Demis has produced, mixed, and mastered seven albums. < Back Karl Friggieri Guitar, Bass Karl Friggieri has been active in the Maltese metal underground scene since 1995. Phantom Lord: (1999 – 2004) Phantom Lord, a thrash/speed metal quintet which had some early power metal melodic influences. Playing bass guitar alongside his brother Robert on drums, Aldo Chircop and Mario Cassar on guitars and Andre’ Spiteri on vocals, Karl contributed to writing the lyrics on a number of the band’s tracks as well as lending a hand in the composition of various tracks. Unfortunately, the band’s original material from this period was only played live on a few occasions with the 7-minute track Faded Spirit being the only track which was ever released through the band’s MySpace page . Blind Saviour: (2005 - ) A fully-fledged Power Metal band fronted by Rachel Grech on vox, Robert Friggieri on drums, Aldo Chircop and Campos Gellel on guitars. The band played quite a few gigs including a number of major Metal festivals in Malta. In 2016 the band released its debut album The Master Plan, which was soon followed by a mini-tour in the UK and Italy to promote the album. In 2018 the single Father of the Wolf, a power metal interpretation of the Amon Amarth track was recorded as a limited release on all major digital platforms. The band is currently on an indefinite hiatus. There are plans to release a more material in the near future. Kill ’em All: (2016 – 2017) It all started off as a one-gig project with Karl being invited to join guitarist Campos Gellel and vocalist Francesco Degabriele to play hits from the first Metallica album. Soon after Aldo Chircop on guitars and Edward Tagliaferro on drums completed the line-up. The band played a few gigs and festivals and proved to have a very decent following. Sonic Storm: (2017 - ) The band came into being soon after Kill ‘em All called it a day. Karl recruited Frans Degabriele on guitars and vocals and Edward Tagliaferro on drums. The trio played a number of live gigs and festivals in Malta. In 2021 Paul Formosa replaced Edward on drums while a year later Sean Attard was recruited on 2 nd guitar to complete the line- up. The band’s first single Bullet Train was released in 2020, followed by a second single, Web of Corruption. If all goes to plan, the band’s debut album should be released by the end of 2023. Void of Chaos: (2020 - ) For this death metal project Karl Friggieri recruited UK-based vocalist Chris Bone and guitarist Jorge Medina from Venezuela. A second guitarist - Artem Efimov from Ukraine recorded guitars on the first single, Feel the Rot. A second single Void of Chaos was released in April 2021, followed by the debut album, Plagues of Annihilation in November 2021. < Back Maria Borg Keyboards Matea Blazhevska Maria Borg started learning the piano at the age of 5, when she started her studies in classical music. She continued her studies to eventually get her Licentiate diploma in pianoforte at the age of 14. She then went on to achieve a Bachelors’ in Music Studies at the University of Malta, graduating in 2018. During her degree, she started exploring other genres of music, such as jazz, metal, rock and pop and is one of the founding members of Delirium. She has played at venues such as Teatru Salesjan, Zion Reggae Bar, The Garage, amongst others. Her main influences include Pink Floyd, Tigran Hamasyan, Elton John and Billy Joel. < Back Julian Grech Keyboards Viktor Vella Julian Grech, born in 1976, Maltese, Electrical Designer from Mellieha, Malta. Julian, classically-trained on the piano since the tender age of 5years, is one of the founding members of 2 successful bands, namely hard-rock/progressive band Frenzy Mono and doom metal band Nomad Son. Frenzy Mono managed to release 2 studio albums - Unorthodox in 2006 & O.B.E. in 2010. Gigged intensely the local scene for more than a decade and was entrusted to be the supporting act for international stars, sharing the stage with highly renowned artists such as Robert Plant from legendary Led Zeppelin, The Animals, and others. Meanwhile, the other band Nomad Son, were signed by the Italian-Polish record label Metal on Metal in 2008, under which label they have released 3 Studio Albums - First Light on CD in 2008, on Vinyl in 2009, The Eternal Return on CD in 2010, on Vinyl in 2011, and The Darkening on CD in 2013. On Vinyl, the first 2 albums were released co-jointly with the reputable Emanes Records from France. Nomad Son are presently working on their 4th album, to be released during 2024. With Nomad Son, Julian has gigged extensively around Europe for numerous tours and shows and headlining several Doom metal Festivals. Nomad Son have had the honour to also share the stage with international artists such as Dream Theatre, Paradise Lost, Uriah Heep, Candle Mass, and many more. Both bands were also awarded various awards in the local Malta Music Awards, namely best album artwork for O.B.E. by Frenzy Mono, Best international achievement and Best heavy metal band for Nomad Son in 2010. In recent years, Julian has also created another musical project, named Tryst Arcane, along with his wife Alexia, who is a Soprano singer (She is the vocalist of acclaimed Memento Nostri, local Metal band). With the relatively-new duo, they are currently giving life to a particularly dark style of music, creating new original tracks, comprising of various keyboard landscapes, with church organ passages and classical piano influences, on top of which lays the enchanting melodic voice of Alexia. The first EP ‘Autumn’ was released on most digital platforms on the 7th October 2019 and the CD was released on 4th November, 2019. The Vinyl version was released on 7th November 2021, accompanied by a live virtual launch, released on Youtube, during Covid times. The second EP ‘Sun Of Other Days’, (featuring Emanuel Portelli , a great musician and good friend from Victims of Creation , Hemplifier , Pilgramage , Thy Legion & Animamortua ) will be released on most digital platforms on 11th August 2023, and later in 2023 this will also be released on Vinyl.
